Beverely Elliott is the Executive Director of the African American Museum of Southern Arizona, the only museum of its kind in the state. In this episode she gives us a tour of the young museum’s exhibitions, tracing Black history in the Sonoran Desert.

The 1974 TUSD segregation case was brought back on appeal to the 9th Circuit Court in 2023, with former students contending that TUSD has still not complied with desegregation order, citing differences in achievement and discipline for Black and Mexican-American students, as well as issues with minority faculty retention and transparency.
